Technical Information Low distortion performance
Distortion is the term used to describe the phenomena where there is a difference between the plane shape of the object and the shape of the image surface formed. It is expressed in %. If the lens is perfect, light that passes through the lens will always be in a straight line. In actuality, however, due to various factors with the lens, light that passes through the lens is distorted to the outside (barrel-shaped) or inside (pin-cushion type).
Moritex's bi-telecentric lens, which pursues the limits of reducing aberration, is able to deliver highly accurate and distortion-free measurements.
・Figure 1 is an image captured using a bi-telecentric lens. Figure 2 illustrates barrel-shaped distortion and Figure 3 shows spool-type distortion.
